Professional Summary

Ms. Kavelle Hylton is a MPhil and PhD science education candidate at the University of the West Indies, a Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Fellow, the coordinator for the Science and Technology Education Unit at the Scientific Research Council (SRC) and Founder/Chief STEM Ambassador of STEM Builders Learning Hub an EdTech startup. She has over a decade of experience in science education as a science educator, STEM popularization practitioner and STEM entrepreneur.Kavelle’s interest in STEM education and nation-building is actively fueled through her implementation of several activities that popularize science and technology in Jamaica such as; the National Science & Technology Fair, The Conversations in Science Series and the STEM Ambassador programme, as well as her involvement in the US Embassy’s Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) programme, Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) fellowship and Women in EdTech Jamaica. As an advocate for women’s representation in STEM and business, Kavelle strongly believes in lifelong learning. Her interest includes creating STEM resources and programs that will transform the Caribbean’s education landscape.
