This paper describes an online certificate program in Behavioral Health and Aging offered by the Center for Aging and Disability Education and Research at Boston University School of Social Work in collaboration with the National Council on Aging to increase senior center staff knowledge and skills.

Faith leaders can play a leading role in identifying and responding to mental health concerns in older adults. CADER trained a group of faith leaders in aging and mental health, and explored how partnerships between senior centers and faith communities can provide continued support to older congregants. This project was presented at the National Council on Aging (NCOA) 2024 Age + Action Conference.

Senior centers are a go-to location for many older adults in need of services and supports. Training senior center staff in behavioral health will help ensure that behavioral health concerns in older adults are identified and addressed. CADER and the NCOA partnered to train 228 senior center staff using CADER's Behavioral Health in Aging certificate and presented the findings at the American Society on Aging (ASA) 2024 conference.

Evaluation Report
Tri-Valley, an Aging Services Access Point in Central Massachusetts, developed the Case Management Accelerated Training (CMAT) program, an 11-week professional development program that equips participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to become case managers. As part of the program, the first 19 participants in Session 1 completed CADER's Person-Centered Case Management (PCCM)
Certificate, with two more sessions planned. Participants reported gaining skills in key case management competency areas and felt significantly more prepared for case management roles upon completion of the certificate program.

Evaluation Report
CADER continues to partner with the New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA) and Aging NY to train case managers throughout New York State. For the 2022-2023 cohort, 96 learners completed CADER's Case Management Certificate. Learners showed significant increases in all course competencies. They reported gaining important knowledge pertaining to mental health in aging, health disparities, and the legal aspects of health care management.

Conference Presentation
Healthcare professionals need to understand the existing gaps in health equity that older adults experience because of ageist attitudes. This CADER research with BU School of Medicine, highlights how drawing attention to implicit and explicit biases towards aging through a geriatric clerkship, can reduce stigmatizing attitudes toward physical and mental health of older adults.

Evaluation Report
In partnership with the E4 Center for Excellence, CADER provided faith leaders in the Chicago area with access to the Mental Health and Aging for Faith Leaders course. This full evaluation report details findings from this training initiative. Faith leaders gained skills in all course competencies and reported that the course met learning objectives. Faith leaders who completed this course are better trained to support older adults facing mental health challenges.

This CADER research highlights the importance of leadership in interprofessional teams. The development and evaluation of the impact of an Interprofessional Leadership in Healthcare Certificate, developed jointly by Boston University School of Social Work's CADER team and Sargent College, was presented at the Gerontological Society of America(GSA) 2023 Annual Scientific Meeting on Aging Research.

This executive summary presentation highlights the success of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA) partnership with CADER to provide two self-paced, online certificate trainings for professionals serving older adults and person with disabilities in the Commonwealth employed at ASAPs or COAs from February 2023 to June 2023. 256 ASAP learners and 42 COA learners completed a certificate program. Learners gained skills in key competency areas relevant to their practice and provided positive feedback about the training.
