How do I register?

For webinars, courses, and certificates, you will have the option to register directly from The Network Learning Catalog course description page.  Click “Register” and you will be guided through the registration process and into the Blackboard Learning Management System for your course. 

New learners will be prompted to create a BU login name and password as part of the registration process.   

Returning learners will be prompted to login with their existing account.

How do I pay for my course or webinar?

Payments for any webinar, course, certificate, or in-person seminar or workshop are processed through Nelnet, which ensures a secure credit card transaction. Nelnet accepts AMEX, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.

We also can invoice groups for payment through our invoicing system, Miscellaneous Receivables. If you would like to be invoiced, please use our Learner Account Assistance form.

How much time does each course require?

Each course has an allotted number of Continuing Education (CE) credits, which are based on the hours required to complete the training.

A live webinar or in-person seminar would typically require 1-3 hours.

Online courses which are asynchronous and self-paced, typically take 3 to 4 hours to complete, and vary by course.

Certificate programs, which contain several self-paced courses, require a 15-24 hour commitment, depending on the subject.  For more specific information on each offering, please refer to the Learning Catalog listing.

What if I need help during my online course?

Help is available by initiating a Learner Technical Assistance Request form at any time during the course.  This form is available in the Blackboard Learning Management System or here.

Technical Assistance is available during regular business hours – Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm EST

We will respond as soon as we can within 24 hours.

What kind of CEs do you offer?

The Network/CADER, through BU School of Social Work, is an approved provider for continuing education from several different accrediting bodies.  Please refer to this page for more information

How do I receive my CEs?

For online courses or certificates: Once the program is completed, you are required to submit the pre-course competency, pass the course quiz, and submit the post-course competency in order to earn the stated CE credit hours. There is an option to print the individual course certificate.

For webinars, you will need to complete both an evaluation form and a post-test quiz. Once these have been submitted, you will receive your CE certificate within 30 days, or be notified if additional information is necessary.

If you are a licensed social worker and would like to get CEs for a recently completed training, please complete this form.

Are PEP programs now part of The Network for Professional Education?

Yes. Live webinars and in-person seminars that were previously offered by BU School of Social Work’s Professional Education Program will now be available in The Network’s Learning Catalog.

Webinars and seminars will appear in the Learning Catalog as they are scheduled. They can be located by searching by format, as well as category.

Are CADER courses and certificates still available on The Network?

Yes. The Center for Aging and Disability Education Research (CADER) now offers its courses and certificate programs in The Network’s Learning Catalog.

How do I get more information to select or develop a curriculum for my staff?

Are there group pricing options?
