NY Connects Online Training
New York Connects Information and Assistance (I&A) Certificate Program
This five-course certificate program should take approximately 18.5 hours to complete. Learners will have until December 31, 2025, to complete the program. Those planning to enroll in both programs must complete this program before accessing the next.
Required Courses
- Core Issues in Aging and Disabilities (6 hours)
- A Guide to the Aging and Disability Networks (4 hours)
- Assessment with Older Adults and Persons with Disabilities (4 hours)
- The Universe of New York State Programs: Identifying Sources of Support (1.5 hours)
- New York No Wrong Door in Action (video course) (3 hours)
Enrollment for the I&A Certificate Program will begin on April 8, 2025.

New York Connects Person-Centered Counseling (PCC) Certificate Program
This four-course certificate program should take approximately 15 hours to complete. Learners will have until December 31, 2025, to complete the program. Those planning to enroll in both programs must complete this program after completing the I&A certificate program.

- Understanding Consumer Control, Person-Centered Planning, and Self-Direction (4 hours)
- Care Transitions (4 hours)
- Mental Health Options Counseling (4 hours)
- A Foundation in Ethics, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving (3 hours)
The NY Connects Person-Centered Options Counseling Certificate Program will open for enrollment in July 2025 to applicable learners after they complete the I&A NY Connects Certificate Program. If learners complete the NY Connects I&A Certificate Program prior to July and would like access to the NY Connects Person-Centered Options Counseling Certificate Program sooner, please alert CADER. Please indicate which staff are expected to complete both programs.
