In the ever-evolving landscape of higher education, there is a growing demand for micro-credentials, which offer a concise learning experience leading to skill development. In this presentation, Dr. Bronwyn Keefe described how CADER training meets this demand in the aging field.
View the PDF ReportHoarding disorder (HD) is a challenging mental health and public health problem. 110 practitioners completed CADER's course, Hoarding Disorder in Older Adults, and showed significant improvements (p<.001) in all learning competencies. The largest change was in the area of being able to identify intervention options and current treatment approaches with hoarding. This poster was presented at the 2024 Gerontological Society of America (GSA) conference.
View the PDF ReportFaith leaders can play a leading role in recognizing and supporting the mental health of their older congregants. To increase faith leaders’ knowledge and skills pertaining to mental health and aging, CADER developed an online course, Mental Health and Aging for Faith Leaders, and piloted the course with 44 faith leaders. Faith leaders showed significant improvements (p< 0.05) in all learning competencies. This poster was presented at the 2024 Gerontological Society of America (GSA) conference.
View the PDF ReportThrough a partnership between CADER and the E4 Center for Excellence, a group of faith leaders in Chicago completed CADER's Mental Health and Aging for Faith Leaders course. Faith leaders gained skills in key competency areas pertaining to mental health and aging. They provided positive feedback on the course and many described plans to add more mental health programming at their congregations.
View the PDF ReportThis evaluation report presents findings from a training initiative completed in partnership with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA). For the training initiative, 136 leaners completed the Behavioral Health in Aging certificate program and 190 learners completed the Person-Centered Case Management certificate program. Learners gained key skills that they will apply in their job roles. The training helped learners feel more confident in their ability to provide better informed and culturally competent care.
View the PDF ReportTri-Valley, an Aging Services Access Point in Central Massachusetts, developed the Case Management Accelerated Training (CMAT) program, an 11-week professional development program that equips participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to become case managers. Sixteen (16) participants completed the second session of the CMAT program, which included CADER's Person-Centered Case Management (PCCM) Certificate. Participants gained key case management skills, knowledge of supports and resources for clients, and will use what they learned to provide culturally responsive care.
