Do BUSSW CADER or Network credentials translate into college credit or college/school of social work credit?

CADER and The Network offer non-degree training programs that provide continuing education credits for health and social services professionals. At this time our credentials do not count toward college credits.  However, many of our learners and certificate graduates go on to pursue higher education in the social services field. (Read about this recent CADER learner who is now pursuing his MSW.)

How do I get more information to select or develop a curriculum for my staff?

We are very interested in helping you find the right courses and/or develop customized training and curriculum for your organization. If you need assistance in identifying the ideal program for your staff development needs, feel free to contact us.

Are there group pricing options?

Group pricing is available for groups of 10 or more to make your training more affordable.

What services could a Network Trainer provide?

In addition to providing training on a wide range of content areas, our trainers are available to work with organizations to identify specific training needs, evaluate and assess staff competencies and opportunities to develop their skills, and develop curriculum specific to the needs of an organization or agency. Trainers work with clients to develop learning objectives for the content areas,  identify the most effective mode or delivery platform for learning, and recommend an appropriate time investment for the training to be most effective for your workforce.

Visit our Trainers Hub to learn more about our certified trainers.  If you would like more information about on working with one of our trainers, please share some information with us here.

How do we apply for CEs for our in-house training program?

To apply for CE approval in Massachusetts, all applications and repeat use forms must be received well before the event takes place. We recommend 3-4 weeks prior for new applications.

To apply for your program, please complete the appropriate CE Program Approval form or our Repeat Use Approval form if you plan to repeat the same training program.

Is the Network related to BUSSW Professional Education Program (PEP), MET College Professional Education (CPE), or BU Continuing Medical Education (CME)?

SSW Professional Education Program (formerly PEP) is now The Network.  The Network provides non-degree continuing education to social service practitioners (social workers, case managers, nurses and direct care staff). Inspired by the long-standing history of BU’s School of Social Work’s Professional Education Programs (PEP) and Center for Aging & Disability Education & Research (CADER), this portfolio of workshops and postgraduate certificate programs are now integrated into The Network.

There are other programs at Boston University that also provide continuing education:

MET College Professional Education (CPE) – provides non-degree continuing education industries such as commercial real estate, financial services, fundraising, law, and genealogy. For more information, please visit: https://cpe.bu.edu/programs/

BU Continuing Medical Education (CME) – provides innovative, relevant, and evidence-based inter-professional education to advance healthcare providers’ competence and performance for medical professionals. For more information, please visit: https://www.bumc.bu.edu/cme/

I completed my registration but cannot yet access my course in Blackboard?

This may occur if you have not completed your registration or if you have not finalized setting up your account.

1. Check your email inbox (spam folder, or if using Gmail, check the Promotions tab as well). If you did not receive a system confirmation email from Boston University with a link to access Blackboard, then you have not completed your enrollment process (by not submitting the Profile step).

2. To complete your Profile, click on the course/certificate registration link then enter the email address and password that you used when registering. The system will take you to where you last left off, please follow the instructions and be sure to submit your PROFILE to finalize enrollment.

Is the CADER Case Management Certificate Program a certification program where I can use Certified Case Manager as a credential with my name?

The CADER Case Management Certificate is not a certification program. You will earn a certificate and continuing education credits with CADER programs. The CADER Case Management Certificate aligns closely with the knowledge domains and competencies that are part of many case management certification exams and can help prepare you for certification. Once you pass the certification exam, you are a certified case manager. You will then need to maintain your certification with continuing education credits with programs such as CADER.
