Description
Explore new career opportunities with a Masters in Social Work (MSW). This course will primarily orient you to the social work profession. It is designed to help you decide if this is the right profession for you and give you a bit of foundational knowledge to help you get started in pursuing a degree in social work. Some of the information covered in this course may also apply to other helping professions such as mental health counseling and marriage and family therapy, among others.
You’ll learn more about the variety of career opportunities in the field, and be ready to prepare your application and start building your career in social work.
Please complete our “Expression of Interest” form by June 1st, 2025 and we’ll reach out with next steps for enrollment in this free program.
Coursework will start on June 15th, 2025, and should be completed by August 1st. In addition, there will also be a live kickoff webinar to orient you to the program, along with a check-in webinar during the summer, and a review webinar once all coursework is complete.
Contributing Authors:
Jorge Delva, MSW, PhD, is a nationally recognized expert on substance use disorders and ethnic health inequities who seeks to understand cultural variations in the etiology of substance use and mental health disorders in the US and globally. As Professor at Boston University School of Social Work, he specializes in cross-cultural research in social work practice, addictions, and mental health.
Bronwyn Keefe, PhD, MSW, MPH is BUSSW’s assistant dean of workforce and professional development, research associate professor, and director of BUSSW’s Center for Aging and Disability Education and Research (CADER) and The Network for Professional Education. Professor Keefe is passionate about educating practitioners and making an impact on their knowledge, skills, and values in key practice areas with older adults.
