Volunteer Engagement

Online Courses

Description

Volunteers are essential in supporting your organization’s mission and overall operation. Many agencies in the aging networks rely on the work of volunteers to provide essential services — such as case assistance, meal delivery, home visits, and recreational activities. Managing our volunteer workforce and their effectiveness is now increasingly important to the welfare of older adults in the community.

This course will help you recruit and manage volunteers more effectively to expand their effectiveness and impact on your organization. The curriculum was developed in collaboration with Massachusetts Councils on Aging, with guidance from the AARP and Encore Boston Network, all of whom have extensive knowledge and experience in supporting the growth of an organization’s volunteer base. You will gain a broad perspective of volunteer management approaches and learn new tools to engage volunteers more effectively, and create a culture of volunteerism to increase the capacity of your agency.

Learner Feedback:

“I really had not thought about how to tackle volunteer recruitment for this new generation. This was very helpful and I’m excited to put more thought into what we need volunteers for and working through all of the components outlined here to have a more successful program.”
